Cooper is almost a week out, today is day 6. He is still doing great and had a fun weekend. He did slip a few times when he got up to bark at the door, and he cried which broke all of our hearts (if he had 4 legs and cried we’d feel the same way). So I am off today to buy more non-slip rugs for the family room. He wasn’t allowed in at first because his incision had a lot of weeping, but it is looking good so he can hang and watch TV. His swelling is down, incision healing nicely and his personality is totally back. He is only on a low dose of tramadol, and we don’t really think he needs that so will probably wean him off in the next 2 days. Just wish he didn’t ignore his little sister, but he is showing a little more interest. Here are some pictures from today…his Uncle Bill came by to help his dad with a few things. Coop loves Uncle Bill but really loves his cousin, Gracie. We won’t let them play together until the staples come out so Coop was sad. Now what is not in the picture….Dad (in Orange) opened the Tahoe to get something out. The Tahoe is the Dad and Cooper car. They go to the dump, haul the boat to the lake and all other kind of fun stuff. So when Dad opened the tailgate, Cooper tried to jump in. Dad caught him but Cooper was very puzzled as to what happened, why he couldn’t jump in the truck (physically). This was the first challenge and it was sad to seem him so puzzled.
Coop, you’re rockin the Tripawds recovery! You’re throwing that “two weeks from hell” statistic out the window. Yipeee!
Whew! Soooo glad you didn’t jump in or out of the truck, that’s not a good idea mister. No fear, you’re going to love the way your folks dote on you now. Actually, everyone will. You’ve probably already discovered that Tripawds are superstars wherever they go!
It’s so fun to see pictures of Coop! Now all you need is an Avatar and a new header banner and your blog is set! Keep it up folks!!!
Thanks so much Jerry! I am rocking the recovery! You should have seen me tonight playing tug of war with the bratty little sister, running with my dad, all sorts of stuff! Don’t worry etgayle, my parents remind me I am re “cooping” so I take my naps seriously! Play hard, rest hard. My mom says she tried to upload a new avatar for the blog but doesn’t know why it won’t upload! and for the banner, she thinks it looks cool, but maybe will put my first walk (run) when I get there. As for the truck, I still don’t know what happened, but when I see the truck I am not so sure I want to hop in. Wow, what a change. But!!! she is giving me sooo many good treats, I forget my problems! tomorrow is my 1 week mark. Mom is excited, I say “what the heck did you expect!!! I’m the Goober Coop!”
coop…jumping in and out of vehicles is so ‘four legged’. let your human help you, and always insist on a treat (both coming and going). glad you are feeling so good, but make sure you don’t forget to include some medicinal naps in all that ‘busy time’…medicinal naps are so very important to a tripawd!!
charon & gayle
Way to go Coop! Lookin’ good. 🙂
